The Penning Board 2013-14

The Penning Board
Items of the Week

Movie: “The Mask of Zorro” (1998) – Antonio Banderas, Catherine Zeta-Jones and Anthony Hopkins

A young thief, seeking revenge over the death of his brother, is trained by the once great, but aged Zorro, who is also seeking vengeance of his own.

Fantastic movie. Banderas, Zeta-Jones and Hopkins are perfect for their roles. The movie score is also amazing.

Highly recommended.

News: “The UK’s ‘Iron Lady’ has passed away”

Margaret Thatcher, the British prime minister between 1979 and 1990, died this morning following a stroke, according to her spokesman.
As Britain's first female premier and leader of the Conservative party, she was renowned for her political dominance in the 1980s, which saw a rolling back of the state and an emphasis on the free market. This broke the post-war pro-state consensus that dominated Britain for nearly three decades.

Song: “Pioneer” – The Band Perry

This is the title track off The Band Perry’s sophomore album that just released last week. I picked it up and have been listening to it non-stop since then. This song goes along with what I think is a vital thing for true travelers – courage to take risks and explore in the face of the uncertainty.

Have a listen here.
