The Penning Board Items of the Week
Vlog: Happy Travels! Thanks for watching! (Sorry, I talk way too fast! I'll work on going slow...) Make sure you check out the song of the week... Hint: I wrote it and I'm singing it. :)
Movie: “Fool's Gold” (2008) with Matthew McConaughey and Kate Hudson
I do prefer Hudson and McConaughey in the movie, "How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days," but this week's movie had to involve a hobby and I did like this movie. It's set in Florida's lovely Key West and features a deep sea treasure hunt for lost Spanish gold. Hudson and McConaughey are scuba divers but also treasure hunters on the side. The scenery and scuba diving in the movie remind me of my scuba diving trip to Puerto Rico.

Book: "A Distant Melody" by Sarah Sundin
I recently read this book and thoroughly enjoyed it. One of the main characters is Walt, a military pilot during World War II, and he enjoys carving as a hobby. One of my favorite scenes was when the girl main character received a intricately carved airplane from him in the mail. I could picture it so well. If you enjoy World War II era or just enjoy a good read, pick up Sundin's books. I will be reading more of her work.
Bible Verse: "There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens: a time to be born and a time to die, a time to plant and a time to uproot, a time to kill and a time to heal, a time to tear down and a time to build, a time to weep and a time to laugh, a time to mourn and a time to dance, a time to scatter stones and a time to gather them, a time to embrace and a time to refrain from embracing, a time to search and a time to give up, a time to keep and a time to throw away, a time to tear and a time to mend, a time to be silent and a time to speak, a time to love and a time to hate, a time for war and a time for peace." - Ecclesiastes 3: 1-8
Quote: “Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn’t do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines, sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.” - Mark Twain
Song: "For You (I'd Cross the World)" by Morgan Tarpley
One of my hobbies is singing and songwriting, so I thought I would debut this song that I wrote. Take it easy on me...it's just a hobby but the song does have to do with world travel so it's fitting. :) Thanks for listening!
